Fly a hang glider to 1 mile (5280ft) above the Earth's surface at the only centre in the country to offer this “once in a lifetime” experience. Included is a free "Been there done that" T-Shirt and "in-flight" video (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoUx98gjHf4&feature=youtu.be for an example)
You will take your thrilling climb to the skies
from Sywell Aerodrome (Northampton) aerotowed by a specially modified microlight aircraft in the company of one of the UK's most experienced instructors.
After a thorough pre-flight briefing, you and your instructor will be attached to a specially designed hang glider complete with its own undercarriage thereby eliminating the need to take off on your feet and, after a short wait for air traffic clearance you will be towed aloft, slowly climbing to your release height.
On reaching the "magical mile" the towline is released and you will glide free and silent in awe of the spectacular views overlooking the Northamptonshire landscape.... an experience only shared with the birds.
You may take the controls or enjoy the thrill of limited aerobatics before making a gentle landing on wheels in front of your family and friends.
The event will take approximately 1.5 hour with circa 40mins in the air.
Sywell Aerodrome is only 15 minutes from the M1 (Jcn15) and has an array of amenities which include a museum and hotel. The facilities are wide ranging and consist of a 1930's Art Deco Bar and Restaurant (formerly a Clubhouse and Officer's Mess), a Utility Room, Function Suites, Conference Rooms. Family and friends are welcome and can watch from our viewing gallery whilst enjoying refreshments from the adjoining cafe. Lunches and evening meals are available as well as overnight accommodation.
Voucher
Each voucher entitles
one person
to participate in this experience. The voucher is transferable, which means that
anyone can use it. The voucher remains valid for bookings for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please contact
the operator using the details printed on your voucher to arrange a date for your event.
Special Conditions
Age limits 14yrs (with parental consent) upwards.
No special fitness level required as all take off's and landing's are performed on wheels.
Weight Limit 80Kg and in proportion to height
Booking your event
We recommend that you purchase your voucher and make a booking for your event at least one month prior to your chosen
date. This is particularly important for weekend events.
